प्रायो मृतो मृतप्रायः शेषोऽभूद्धरणीतले । नष्टा अरण्यजा ग्राम्याः पशवः पक्षिणो मृगाः
prāyo mṛto mṛtaprāyaḥ śeṣo'bhūddharaṇītale | naṣṭā araṇyajā grāmyāḥ paśavaḥ pakṣiṇo mṛgāḥ
ഭൂമിയിൽ അവശേഷിച്ചവർ മിക്കവാറും മരിച്ചവരോ മരിച്ചതിന് തുല്യരോ ആയിരുന്നു. കാട്ടിലെയും നാട്ടിലെയും മൃഗങ്ങളും പക്ഷികളും എല്ലാം നശിച്ചുപോയി.
