एते च वांछते नित्यं तक्षको द्विज कुण्डले । स तथेति समादाय विस्मयोत्फुल्ललोचनः । कौतुकात्पुनरागत्य राजानं वाक्यमब्रवीत्
ete ca vāṃchate nityaṃ takṣako dvija kuṇḍale | sa tatheti samādāya vismayotphullalocanaḥ | kautukātpunarāgatya rājānaṃ vākyamabravīt
“ഹേ ദ്വിജാ, തക്ഷകൻ എന്ന നാഗൻ ഈ കുണ്ഡലങ്ങളെ നിത്യവും ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നു.” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞ് ‘തഥാസ്തു’ എന്നു സമ്മതിച്ച് അവൻ അവ എടുത്തു; വിസ്മയത്തിൽ കണ്ണുകൾ വിടർന്നു. പിന്നെ കൗതുകത്തോടെ മടങ്ങി വന്ന് രാജാവിനോട് ഈ വാക്കുകൾ പറഞ്ഞു.
