śrīmahādeva uvāca | na vṛthā darśanaṃ me syādviśeṣādbrāhmaṇasya ca | darśanaṃ ye kariṣyaṃti teṣāṃ ca tīrthajaṃ phalam
Śrī Mahādeva (Śiva)
Listener: Munis
Scene: Śiva assures the sages that his darśana is never futile and grants tīrtha-born merit to future visitors who behold him.
Darśana of Śiva at a sanctified place yields real merit; sacred encounter itself becomes tīrtha-like in fruit.
The Arbuda Koṭiliṅga sacred setting where Śiva’s darśana is declared to confer tīrtha-born merit.
The implied prescription is to seek darśana; no separate snāna/dāna/japa is specified in this verse.
