एवं तस्य व्रतस्थस्य जग्मुर्वर्षशतानि च । तत्र भीतास्ततो देवा ब्रह्मविष्णुपुरःसराः
evaṃ tasya vratasthasya jagmurvarṣaśatāni ca | tatra bhītāstato devā brahmaviṣṇupuraḥsarāḥ
ഇങ്ങനെ വ്രതസ്ഥനായി നിലകൊണ്ടിരിക്കെ അവന് നൂറുകണക്കിന് വർഷങ്ങൾ കടന്നു. അപ്പോൾ ബ്രഹ്മാവും വിഷ്ണുവും മുൻപന്തിയിലായ ദേവന്മാർ ആ തപസ്സിനെക്കണ്ട് ഭീതരായി.
