പിന്നെ കർമ്മം സമാപിച്ചപ്പോൾ ഭഗവാൻ ത്രിപുരാന്തകൻ (ശിവൻ) ഭക്തിയോടെ പദ്മജൻ (ബ്രഹ്മാവ്)നോട് പറഞ്ഞു—“നിനക്കു ദക്ഷിണ നൽകാം; എന്താണ് ആഗ്രഹം?”
