शंतनोर्दयितः पुत्रो गांगेय इति विश्रुतः । आसीत्पुरा वरो नृणामूर्ध्वरेताः सुविश्रुतः
śaṃtanordayitaḥ putro gāṃgeya iti viśrutaḥ | āsītpurā varo nṛṇāmūrdhvaretāḥ suviśrutaḥ
ശന്തനുവിന്റെ പ്രിയപുത്രൻ ‘ഗാംഗേയൻ’ എന്നു പ്രസിദ്ധൻ; അവൻ പണ്ടുകാലത്ത് മനുഷ്യരിൽ ശ്രേഷ്ഠനും ഊർദ്ധ്വരേതസ് (ബ്രഹ്മചര്യ-തേജസ്) കൊണ്ടു സുവിശ്രുതനും ആയിരുന്നു।
