वैशाख्यां यो नरस्तत्र कृत्वा श्राद्धं समाहितः । ततः पश्यति देवेशं महाकाल इति स्मृतम् । पूजयेद्दक्षिणां मूर्तिं समाश्रित्य द्विजोत्तमाः
vaiśākhyāṃ yo narastatra kṛtvā śrāddhaṃ samāhitaḥ | tataḥ paśyati deveśaṃ mahākāla iti smṛtam | pūjayeddakṣiṇāṃ mūrtiṃ samāśritya dvijottamāḥ
ഹേ ദ്വിജോത്തമന്മാരേ! വൈശാഖമാസത്തിൽ ആരെങ്കിലും അവിടെ ഏകാഗ്രചിത്തനായി ശ്രാദ്ധം ചെയ്താൽ, തുടർന്ന് ‘മഹാകാലൻ’ എന്നു പ്രസിദ്ധനായ ദേവേശനെ ദർശിക്കുന്നു. ദക്ഷിണാഭിമുഖമായ മൂർത്തിയെ ആശ്രയിച്ച് പൂജിക്കണം।
