। ऋषय ऊचुः । चतुर्युगस्वरूपं तु माहात्म्यं चैव सूतज । प्रमाणं वद कार्त्स्न्येन परं कौतूहलं हि नः
| ṛṣaya ūcuḥ | caturyugasvarūpaṃ tu māhātmyaṃ caiva sūtaja | pramāṇaṃ vada kārtsnyena paraṃ kautūhalaṃ hi naḥ
ഋഷിമാർ പറഞ്ഞു—ഹേ സൂതപുത്രാ! ചതുര്യുഗങ്ങളുടെ സ്വരൂപവും അവയുടെ മഹാത്മ്യവും യഥാർത്ഥമായി പറയുക. അവയുടെ പ്രമാണവും പൂർണ്ണമായി വിശദീകരിക്കുക; ഞങ്ങളുടെ കൗതുകം അത്യന്തമാണ്.
