कारणं कथ्यतामाशु वह्नीन्द्रवसुभिर्युताः । देवा ऊचुः । दैत्यैः पराजितास्तात संगरेऽद्भुतकारिभिः
kāraṇaṃ kathyatāmāśu vahnīndravasubhiryutāḥ | devā ūcuḥ | daityaiḥ parājitāstāta saṃgare'dbhutakāribhiḥ
“കാരണം വേഗം പറയുക,” എന്നു ബ്രഹ്മാവ് പറഞ്ഞു; അഗ്നി, ഇന്ദ്രൻ, വസുക്കൾ എന്നിവരോടുകൂടി ദേവന്മാർ മുന്നിൽ നിന്നു. ദേവന്മാർ പറഞ്ഞു—“താതാ, അത്ഭുതകൃത്യങ്ങൾ ചെയ്യുന്ന ദൈത്യന്മാർ യുദ്ധത്തിൽ ഞങ്ങളെ പരാജയപ്പെടുത്തി.”
