सूत उवाच । शृणुध्वं मुनयः सर्वे चातुर्मास्यव्रतोद्भवम् । माहात्म्यं विस्तरेणैव कथयिष्यामि वोऽग्रतः
sūta uvāca | śṛṇudhvaṃ munayaḥ sarve cāturmāsyavratodbhavam | māhātmyaṃ vistareṇaiva kathayiṣyāmi vo'grataḥ
സൂതൻ പറഞ്ഞു—ഹേ സർവ്വ മുനിമാരേ! ചാതുർമാസ്യവ്രതത്തിന്റെ ഉദ്ഭവം ശ്രവിക്കുവിൻ. അതിന്റെ മഹാത്മ്യം നിങ്ങളുടെ മുമ്പിൽ വിശദമായി ഞാൻ വർണ്ണിക്കും.
