तस्मिन्पंगुत्वमापन्ने दैत्ये परमदारुणे । कस्यचित्त्वथ कालस्य देवराजो बृहस्पतिम् । प्रोवाच दुःखसंतप्त आषाढांते सुरो त्तमः
tasminpaṃgutvamāpanne daitye paramadāruṇe | kasyacittvatha kālasya devarājo bṛhaspatim | provāca duḥkhasaṃtapta āṣāḍhāṃte suro ttamaḥ
ആ അത്യന്തം ഭീകരനായ ദൈത്യൻ മുടന്തനായി വീണപ്പോൾ, കുറെകാലം കഴിഞ്ഞ്, ദുഃഖത്തിൽ കത്തിയ ദേവശ്രേഷ്ഠനായ ദേവരാജൻ ആഷാഢാന്തത്തിൽ ബൃഹസ്പതിയോട് പറഞ്ഞു.
