भर्तृयज्ञ उवाच । तच्छ्रुत्वा पितरो हृष्टा जग्मुः स्वंस्वं निकेतनम् । वर्षांतेऽपि समासाद्य श्राद्धं न स्युर्बुभुक्षिताः
bhartṛyajña uvāca | tacchrutvā pitaro hṛṣṭā jagmuḥ svaṃsvaṃ niketanam | varṣāṃte'pi samāsādya śrāddhaṃ na syurbubhukṣitāḥ
ഭര്ത്തൃയജ്ഞന് പറഞ്ഞു—ഇതു കേട്ട് പിതൃകള് ഹര്ഷിച്ചു തത്തത്തം നികേതനങ്ങളിലേക്കു പോയി. വര്ഷാന്ത്യത്തില് ശ്രാദ്ധം നിര്വഹിക്കപ്പെടുമ്പോള് അവര് വിശപ്പോടെ ഇരിക്കുകയില്ല.
