न दत्तं वंशजैर्मर्त्यैश्चेद्व्यथां यांति दारुणाम् । क्षुत्पिपासासमुद्भूतां तस्मात्संतर्पयेत्पितॄन्
na dattaṃ vaṃśajairmartyaiścedvyathāṃ yāṃti dāruṇām | kṣutpipāsāsamudbhūtāṃ tasmātsaṃtarpayetpitṝn
മർത്ത്യ വംശജർ അർപ്പണം നൽകാതിരുന്നാൽ പിതൃകൾ ക്ഷുധാ-തൃഷ്ണാജന്യമായ ഭീകര വ്യഥയിൽ പതിക്കുന്നു; അതിനാൽ പിതൃകളെ സന്തർപ്പിക്കണം (തർപ്പണം ചെയ്യണം).
