एतस्मात्कारणादन्नं नित्यं देयं तथोदकम् । समुद्दिश्य पितॄन्राजन्यतस्ते तन्मयाः स्मृताः
etasmātkāraṇādannaṃ nityaṃ deyaṃ tathodakam | samuddiśya pitṝnrājanyataste tanmayāḥ smṛtāḥ
അതുകൊണ്ട് നിത്യവും അന്നവും ജലവും പിതൃകളെ ഉദ്ദേശിച്ച് ദാനം ചെയ്യണം; ഹേ രാജാവേ, അവർ ആ അർപ്പണത്താൽ തന്നെയാണു തൃപ്തരെന്ന് സ്മൃതിയിൽ പറയുന്നു.
