तेषां मध्ये तु यो बौद्धः शांतो दांत इति स्मृतः । छन्दोगगोत्रविख्यातो वेदवेदांगपारगः
teṣāṃ madhye tu yo bauddhaḥ śāṃto dāṃta iti smṛtaḥ | chandogagotravikhyāto vedavedāṃgapāragaḥ
അവരിൽ ബൗദ്ധനെന്നവൻ ‘ശാന്തൻ’ ‘ദാന്തൻ’ എന്നു സ്മരിക്കപ്പെട്ടു; ഛാന്ദോഗ ഗോത്രത്തിൽ പ്രസിദ്ധനും വേദ-വേദാംഗങ്ങളിൽ പാരംഗതനും ആയിരുന്നു.
