त्यजेदं दुष्करं घोरं तपो मद्वचनाद्द्रुतम् । स यदा ब्रह्मणा प्रोक्तो ब्रह्मर्षि स्त्वमसंशयम्
tyajedaṃ duṣkaraṃ ghoraṃ tapo madvacanāddrutam | sa yadā brahmaṇā prokto brahmarṣi stvamasaṃśayam
‘എന്റെ വചനപ്രകാരം ഈ ദുഷ്കരവും ഘോരവുമായ തപസ്സ് ഉടൻ ഉപേക്ഷിക്കൂ.’ ബ്രഹ്മാ ഇങ്ങനെ പറഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ—‘നീ സംശയമില്ലാതെ ബ്രഹ്മർഷി’—എന്ന് അവന്റെ പദവി ഉറപ്പായി.
