एवंविधोऽपि सोऽतीवविरूपोऽपि सुदुर्मतिः । प्रार्थयामास वै कन्यां स्वजात्यां वीक्ष्य सुंदरीम्
evaṃvidho'pi so'tīvavirūpo'pi sudurmatiḥ | prārthayāmāsa vai kanyāṃ svajātyāṃ vīkṣya suṃdarīm
ഇങ്ങനെയായിട്ടും—അത്യന്തം വികൃതരൂപനും ദുഷ്ടബുദ്ധിയുമുള്ളവനായിട്ടും—സ്വജാതിയിലെ സുന്ദരിയായ ഒരു കന്യയെ കണ്ടിട്ട് അവളെ വിവാഹാർത്ഥം അപേക്ഷിച്ചു.
