Sūta (deduced from continued narration)
Tirtha: Apsarasāṃ Kuṇḍa
Type: kund
Scene: A diseased brāhmaṇa bathes in a lotus-ringed kunda on a Sunday; as he emerges, the skin affliction falls away like a shed garment, while a subtle aura of clarity surrounds his head, suggesting buddhi’s victory over sense-objects.
Purification is both outer and inner: the tīrtha removes affliction, while the verse likens true release to wisdom that lets go of sense-attachment.
Apsarasāṃ Kuṇḍa (the pond associated with the Apsarases) in Nāgarakhaṇḍa’s Tīrthamāhātmya.
Bathing at Apsarasāṃ Kuṇḍa specifically on Ravivāsara (Sunday).
