Rājā (the King)
Type: kshetra
Scene: A king, earnest and anxious for his realm, petitions the Devī to reside permanently at the spot; the land is symbolically shown as afflicted—withered plants or pallor—awaiting her protective settling.
A sacred place is protected and purified when the Divine Presence is invoked to reside there, removing collective afflictions.
A local kṣetra within the Nāgara-khaṇḍa’s Tīrthamāhātmya; the passage praises the kṣetra as a healing site safeguarded by its deity.
An invocation/request that the Goddess remain established at the site to eliminate the land’s disease-taint (a foundational act preceding worship and tīrtha-practice).
