प्रोवाच परितुष्टोऽस्मि मत्तः प्रार्थय वांछितम् । अहं ते संप्रदास्यामि दुर्लभं त्रिदशैरपि
provāca parituṣṭo'smi mattaḥ prārthaya vāṃchitam | ahaṃ te saṃpradāsyāmi durlabhaṃ tridaśairapi
ശിവൻ പറഞ്ഞു—“ഞാൻ പൂർണ്ണമായി പ്രസന്നനാണ്. എനിക്കു നിന്നിഷ്ടമുള്ള വരം അപേക്ഷിക്ക; ദേവന്മാർക്കും ദുർലഭമായതും ഞാൻ നിനക്കു നൽകും।”
