यथा मृत्युकृते मन्दः शृगालः सिंहवल्लभाम् । वने सुप्तां सुविश्वस्तां सर्वथाप्य कुतोभयाम्
yathā mṛtyukṛte mandaḥ śṛgālaḥ siṃhavallabhām | vane suptāṃ suviśvastāṃ sarvathāpya kutobhayām
സ്വന്തം മരണത്തിലേക്കു തന്നെ ഓടുന്ന മൂഢനായ കുറുക്കൻ, വനത്തിൽ ഉറങ്ങുന്ന, നിർഭയയും നിർവിചാരയും ആയ സിംഹപ്രിയയിലേക്കു സമീപിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ—അവനും അങ്ങനെ മുന്നേറി.
