ईश्वर उवाच । तीर्थशब्दो वरारोहे धर्मकृत्येषु वर्तते । धर्मस्थानेषु सर्वेषु तत्त्वं शृणु समाहिता
īśvara uvāca | tīrthaśabdo varārohe dharmakṛtyeṣu vartate | dharmasthāneṣu sarveṣu tattvaṃ śṛṇu samāhitā
ഈശ്വരൻ അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു—ഹേ വരാരോഹേ! ‘തീർത്ഥ’ എന്ന പദം ധർമ്മകൃത്യങ്ങളിൽ പ്രയോഗിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു. എല്ലാ ധർമ്മസ്ഥാനങ്ങളിലും അതിന്റെ തത്ത്വം നീ ഏകാഗ്രമായി ശ്രവിക്കൂ।
