सूत उवाच । इति रुद्रवचः श्रुत्वा सहसा तं विमुच्य सः । न्यपतत्पादयोर्हा धिक्कष्टं कष्टं च प्राह सः
sūta uvāca | iti rudravacaḥ śrutvā sahasā taṃ vimucya saḥ | nyapatatpādayorhā dhikkaṣṭaṃ kaṣṭaṃ ca prāha saḥ
സൂതൻ പറഞ്ഞു—രുദ്രവചനം കേട്ട ഉടൻ അവൻ അവനെ വിട്ടയച്ചു, പാദങ്ങളിൽ വീണു, “അയ്യോ! ധിക്, എന്തൊരു ദുരിതം—എത്ര ഭയങ്കരം, എത്ര ഭയങ്കരം!” എന്നു വിളിച്ചു।
