आसीत्पुरा महावीर्यो दानवो बलदर्पितः । कालपृष्ठ इति ख्यातः सुतो ब्रह्मसुतस्य च
āsītpurā mahāvīryo dānavo baladarpitaḥ | kālapṛṣṭha iti khyātaḥ suto brahmasutasya ca
പുരാതനകാലത്ത് ബലദർപ്പത്തിൽ മദിച്ച മഹാവീര്യനായ ഒരു ദാനവൻ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. അവൻ ‘കാലപൃഷ്ഠ’ എന്ന പേരിൽ പ്രസിദ്ധനായി; ബ്രഹ്മാവിന്റെ പുത്രന്റെ പുത്രനെന്നു പറയപ്പെട്ടു.
