श्रीमार्कण्डेय उवाच । शृण्वन्तु ऋषयः सर्वे त्वं च तात युधिष्ठिर । पुराणं नर्मदायां तु कथितं च त्रिशूलिना
śrīmārkaṇḍeya uvāca | śṛṇvantu ṛṣayaḥ sarve tvaṃ ca tāta yudhiṣṭhira | purāṇaṃ narmadāyāṃ tu kathitaṃ ca triśūlinā
ശ്രീ മാർക്കണ്ഡേയൻ പറഞ്ഞു—എല്ലാ ഋഷിമാരും കേൾക്കട്ടെ; നീയും, പ്രിയ യുധിഷ്ഠിരാ. നർമദാതീരത്ത് ത്രിശൂലധാരി (ശിവൻ) ഈ പുരാണം പ്രസ്താവിച്ചു।
