श्रीमार्कण्डेय उवाच । एतदाख्यानमतुलं पुण्यं श्रुतिमुखावहम् । पुराणे यच्छ्रुतं तात तत्ते वक्ष्याम्यशेषतः
śrīmārkaṇḍeya uvāca | etadākhyānamatulaṃ puṇyaṃ śrutimukhāvaham | purāṇe yacchrutaṃ tāta tatte vakṣyāmyaśeṣataḥ
ശ്രീ മാർകണ്ഡേയൻ പറഞ്ഞു—ഇത് അതുലമായ പുണ്യാഖ്യാനം, ശ്രവണയോഗ്യവും മഹാഫലപ്രദവും ആകുന്നു. ഹേ താത! പുരാണങ്ങളിൽ ഞാൻ കേട്ടതെല്ലാം ഒന്നും വിട്ടുപോകാതെ നിനക്കു പൂർണ്ണമായി പറയാം.
