श्रीमार्कण्डेय उवाच । एरण्डीसङ्गमं गच्छेत्सुरासुरनमस्कृतम् । तत्तु तीर्थं महापुण्यं महापातकनाशनम्
śrīmārkaṇḍeya uvāca | eraṇḍīsaṅgamaṃ gacchetsurāsuranamaskṛtam | tattu tīrthaṃ mahāpuṇyaṃ mahāpātakanāśanam
ശ്രീ മാർക്കണ്ഡേയൻ പറഞ്ഞു—ദേവന്മാരും അസുരന്മാരും നമസ്കരിക്കുന്ന എരണ്ടീ സംഗമത്തിലേക്കു പോകണം. ആ തീർത്ഥം മഹാപുണ്യകരവും മഹാപാതകനാശകവുമാണ്।

Scene: At the meeting of waters: two streams merging into the Revā; devas and asuras shown in symmetrical reverence on opposite banks, hands folded, acknowledging the tīrtha’s power; pilgrims arrive guided by the sage’s instruction.
A saṅgama is presented as exceptionally purifying—capable of destroying even grave sins through tīrtha-sevā.
