ब्राह्मण उवाच । सर्वेषामेव विप्राणां बटो त्वं गोत्र उत्तमे । दानानां परमं दानं कथं विद्या च दीयते
brāhmaṇa uvāca | sarveṣāmeva viprāṇāṃ baṭo tvaṃ gotra uttame | dānānāṃ paramaṃ dānaṃ kathaṃ vidyā ca dīyate
ബ്രാഹ്മണൻ പറഞ്ഞു—ഹേ ഗോത്രോത്തമ ബടുവേ, നീ എല്ലാ വിപ്രന്മാരിലും ശ്രേഷ്ഠൻ. ദാനങ്ങളിൽ പരമദാനം വിദ്യയാണ്; അത്തരം വിദ്യയെ എങ്ങനെ തന്നെയാകും ദാനം ചെയ്യുക?
