श्रुतिस्मृतिपुराणानि विदुषां लोचनत्रयम् । यस्त्रिभिर्नयनैः पश्येत्सोऽंशो माहेश्वरो मतः
śrutismṛtipurāṇāni viduṣāṃ locanatrayam | yastribhirnayanaiḥ paśyetso'ṃśo māheśvaro mataḥ
ശ്രുതി, സ്മൃതി, പുരാണങ്ങൾ—ഇവയാണ് പണ്ഡിതരുടെ ത്രിനേത്രം; ഈ മൂന്നു നേത്രങ്ങളാൽ കാണുന്നവൻ മഹേശ്വരൻ (ശിവൻ) എന്നതിന്റെ അംശമെന്നു കരുതപ്പെടുന്നു।
