महे शुल्काय वरुणस्य नु त्विष ओजो मिमाते ध्रुवमस्य यत्स्वम् । अजामिमन्यः श्नथयन्तमातिरद्दभ्रेभिरन्यः प्र वृणोति भूयसः ॥
mahé śulkā́ya váruṇasya nú tvíṣe ójo mimāte dhrúvam asya yát svám | ájāmim anyáḥ śnatháyantam ā́tirad dabhrebhír anyáḥ prá vṛṇoti bhū́yasaḥ ||
ഇപ്പോൾ വരുണന്റെ മഹത്തായ തേജസ്സിനായി അവന്റെ ദൃഢമായ, സ്വന്തം ശക്തി ദീപ്തിയിൽ തന്നെത്തന്നെ അളക്കുന്നു. മറ്റവൻ വഴങ്ങാത്തവനെ അടിച്ചു വീഴ്ത്തുന്നു; മറ്റവൻ ചെറുതിൽ നിന്ന് കൂടുതലായതു—മഹത്തായ വർദ്ധന—തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കുന്നു.
