अशोच्यग्निः समिधानो अस्मे उपो अदृश्रन्तमसश्चिदन्ताः । अचेति केतुरुषसः पुरस्ताच्छ्रिये दिवो दुहितुर्जायमानः ॥
Transliteration
áśoci agníḥ samidhānáḥ asmē úpo adṛśran támasas cid ántāḥ | áceti ketúr uṣásaḥ purástāc chríye divó duhitur jā́yamānaḥ ||
Translation
അഗ്നി നമ്മിൽ സമിധിതനായി ജ്വലിച്ചു; അന്ധകാരത്തിന്റെ അതിരുകളും പോലും ദൃശ്യമാകുന്നു. കിഴക്കിൽ ഉഷസ്സിന്റെ കേതു തെളിയുന്നു—ദിവയുടെ ദുഹിതാവായ (ഉഷാ)യുടെ ശ്രിയ്ക്കായി ജന്മം കൈക്കൊണ്ടുകൊണ്ട്.
