Sukta 2.39
ग्रावाणेव तदिदर्थं जरेथे गृध्रेव वृक्षं निधिमन्तमच्छ । ब्रह्माणेव विदथ उक्थशासा दूतेव हव्या जन्या पुरुत्रा ॥
grā́vāṇeva tád id árthaṃ jarethe gṛ́dhreva vṛkṣáṃ nidhí-mantam áccha | brahmā́ṇeva vidátha uktha-śā́sā dū́teva havyā́ janyā́ puru-trā́ ||
പിഴിയുന്ന കല്ലുകളെപ്പോലെ നിങ്ങൾ ഇരുവരും യഥാർത്ഥ ലക്ഷ്യത്തിനായി നിയുക്തരാകുന്നു; ആകാംക്ഷയുള്ള അന്വേഷകരെപ്പോലെ നിധിഭരിതമായ വൃക്ഷത്തിങ്കലേക്ക് വരുന്നു. ബ്രാഹ്മണന്മാരെപ്പോലെ വിദഥ (സഭ)കളിൽ ഉക്ഥ-ശാസാ (സ്തോത്ര-ആജ്ഞയോടെ) സഞ്ചരിക്കുന്നു; ദൂതന്മാരെപ്പോലെ മനുഷ്യരുടെ ഹവ്യ (അർപ്പണങ്ങൾ) പല ദിക്കുകളിലേക്കും വഹിക്കുന്നു.
