Sukta 10.78
वातासो न ये धुनयो जिगत्नवोऽग्नीनां न जिह्वा विरोकिणः । वर्मण्वन्तो न योधाः शिमीवन्तः पितॄणां न शंसाः सुरातयः ॥
vātā́so na yé dhúnayo jigatnávो’gnīnā́ṃ na jihvā́ vi-rokíṇaḥ | vármaṇvanto na yodhā́ḥ śimī́vantaḥ pitṝṇā́ṃ na śaṃsā́ḥ su-rā́tayaḥ ||
വാതങ്ങളെപ്പോലെ അവർ ധുനി—തള്ളിപ്പായുന്ന കാറ്റടികൾ—ആയി മുന്നോട്ട് കുതിക്കുന്നു; അഗ്നികളുടെ ജിഹ്വകളെപ്പോലെ അവർ പ്രകാശിച്ച് ദീപ്തമാകുന്നു. കവചധാരികളായ യോദ്ധാക്കളെപ്പോലെ അവർ ശക്തിയോടെ മുന്നേറുന്നു; പിതൃകളുടെ ശംസങ്ങളെപ്പോലെ അവർ സുരാതി—നല്ല ദാനത്തിന്റെ—വാക്കുകളാണ്.
