Sukta 10.42
बृहस्पतिर्नः परि पातु पश्चादुतोत्तरस्मादधरादघायोः । इन्द्रः पुरस्तादुत मध्यतो नः सखा सखिभ्यो वरिवः कृणोतु ॥
bṛ́haspátir naḥ pári pātu paścā́d utóttarasmād ádharād aghāyóḥ | índraḥ purástād utá madhyató naḥ sákhā sákhibhyo vári-vaḥ kṛṇotu ||
ബൃഹസ്പതി നമ്മെ എല്ലാദിക്കിലും കാത്തുരക്ഷിക്കട്ടെ—പിന്നിൽ നിന്ന്, മുകളിൽ നിന്ന്, താഴെ നിന്ന്—അഘായു (അപകാരം ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്ന) ശക്തികൾക്കെതിരെ. ഇന്ദ്രൻ നമ്മുടെ സഖാവായി, മുന്നിൽ നിന്നും നമ്മുടെ മദ്ധ്യത്തിൽ നിന്നും നമ്മെ സംരക്ഷിക്കട്ടെ; സഖികൾക്കായി വിശാലാവകാശം (വരിവഃ) ഒരുക്കട്ടെ.
