वधीं वृत्रं मरुत इन्द्रियेण स्वेन भामेन तविषो बभूवान् । अहमेता मनवे विश्वश्चन्द्राः सुगा अपश्चकर वज्रबाहुः ॥
vadhī́m vṛtrám maruta indríyeṇa svéna bhā́mena taviṣó babhūvān | ahám etā́ mánave viśvá-candrāḥ su-gā́ ápaś cakara vájra-bāhuḥ ||
ഹേ മരുത്തുകളേ! എന്റെ സ്വന്തം ഇന്ദ്രിയ (ഇന്ദ്ര-ബലം) കൊണ്ടു ഞാൻ വൃത്രനെ—ആവരണക്കാരനെ—വധിച്ചു; എന്റെ സ്വന്തം തേജസ്സാൽ ഞാൻ പ്രചണ്ഡനായി. വജ്രം ധരിച്ച ഭുജമുള്ള ഞാൻ, മനുഷ്യനുവേണ്ടി ഈ ജലങ്ങളെ—വിശ്വചന്ദ്ര, സർവ്വത്ര പ്രകാശമുള്ള—സുഖഗമ്യമായി, സന്തോഷകരമായ മുന്നേറ്റത്തിന്റെ പാതകളായി ഒരുക്കി.
