त्रीणि त आहुर्दिवि बन्धनानि त्रीण्यप्सु त्रीण्यन्तः समुद्रे । उतेव मे वरुणश्छन्त्स्यर्वन्यत्रा त आहुः परमं जनित्रम् ॥
trī́ṇi ta āhur diví bándhanāni trī́ṇy apsú trī́ṇy antáḥ samudré | utéva me váruṇaś chantsi arván yátrā ta āhúḥ paramáṃ jánitram ||
ദിവിയിൽ നിനക്കു മൂന്നു ബന്ധനങ്ങളുണ്ടെന്നു പറയുന്നു; അപ്സു (ജലങ്ങളിൽ) മൂന്നു, സമുദ്രത്തിന്റെ അന്തർഗ്ഗഹനത്തിലുമൂന്നു. ഹേ അശ്വ, വരുൺ എനിക്കു ആ ദർശനം നല്കട്ടെ—അവർ നിന്റെ പരമ ജനിത്രം (പരമ ജന്മസ്ഥാനം) എന്നു പ്രഖ്യാപിക്കുന്ന ആ സ്ഥലം കണ്ടെത്തുന്ന ദർശനം; അവിടെയാണ് ഉന്നത സത്യത്തിൽ ശക്തി ആദ്യം ഉദിക്കുന്നത്.
