तमस्य राजा वरुणस्तमश्विना क्रतुं सचन्त मारुतस्य वेधसः । दाधार दक्षमुत्तममहर्विदं व्रजं च विष्णुः सखिवाँ अपोर्णुते ॥
tám asya rājā váruṇas tám aśvínā krátum sacanta mārútasya védhasaḥ | dādhā́ra dákṣam uttamáṃ áhār-vidaṃ vrjáṃ ca víṣṇuḥ sákhivā́n apa-ūrṇute ||
അവനെക്കുറിച്ച് രാജാവായ വരുണൻ തന്റെ രാജസ ദൃഷ്ടി-സംരക്ഷണം ധരിക്കുന്നു; അശ്വിനുകൾ അവന്റെ ക്രതു (കാര്യസാധക ഇച്ഛാശക്തി) യോടു ചേർന്നു നിൽക്കുന്നു; മരുത്-വേധസ് ശക്തി ദിനത്തെ കണ്ടെത്തുന്ന പരമ ദക്ഷ (വിവേകം) ധാരണം ചെയ്യുന്നു. പിന്നെ വിഷ്ണു—സഖാവ്—അവനുവേണ്ടി പ്രകാശമയ വ്രജ (ജ്യോതിര്മയ ആവരണം/വേലി) യെയും തുറന്നു കാണിക്കുന്നു.
