The Slaying of Kumbhakarna

तंछिन्नबाहुंसमवेक्ष्यरामःसमापतन्तंसहसानदन्तम् ।द्वावर्धचन्द्रौनिशितौप्रगृह्यचिच्छेदपादौयुधिराक्षसस्य ।।।।

taṃ chinnabāhuṃ samavekṣya rāmaḥ samāpatantaṃ sahasā nadantam | dvāv ardhacandrau niśitau pragṛhya ciccheda pādau yudhi rākṣasasya ||

കൈ മുറിഞ്ഞിട്ടും ഗർജ്ജിച്ചുകൊണ്ട് പാഞ്ഞെത്തുന്ന രാക്ഷസനെ കണ്ട രാമൻ ഉടൻ തന്നെ മൂർച്ചയുള്ള രണ്ട് അർദ്ധചന്ദ്രാകാര അമ്പുകൾ എടുത്ത് യുദ്ധത്തിൽ അവന്റെ ഇരുകാലുകളും വെട്ടിമാറ്റി.
