Garuda’s Arrival and the Release from the Serpent-Arrow Bond
सुग्रीवस्यवचश्श्रुत्वावालिपुत्रोऽङ्गदोऽब्रवीत् ।नत्वंपश्यसिरामंचलक्ष्मणंचमहारथम् ।।6.50.2।।शरजालचितौवीरावुभौदशरथात्मजौ ।शरतल्पेमहात्मानौशयानौरुधिरोक्षितौ ।।6.50.3।।
śarajālacitaū vīrāv ubhau daśarathātmajau |
śaratalpe mahātmānau śayānau rudhirokṣitau || 6.50.3 ||
അമ്പുകളുടെ വലയാൽ മൂടപ്പെട്ടും രക്തത്തിൽ നനഞ്ഞും—ദശരഥന്റെ ഇരുവീരപുത്രന്മാരായ മഹാത്മ സഹോദരർ, അമ്പശയ്യയിൽ ശയിച്ചുകിടന്നു.
"Having lost my life ambition for the kingdom, frustrated I am. My enemy Ravana, having succeeded in his vow, did this deed."
Dharma is steadfastness amid suffering: even the righteous may endure pain, yet their duty and cause are not invalidated by adversity.
Aṅgada describes the condition of Rāma and Lakṣmaṇa after being struck—lying unconscious on the battlefield under a barrage of arrows.
The brothers’ kṣānti (endurance) and heroic steadfastness, implied by their continuing identification as ‘great-souled’ even in defeat.
