चतुश्चत्वारिंशः सर्गः (Sarga 44): निशायुद्धम्, धूलिरुधिरप्रवाहः, इन्द्रजितो मायायुद्धम्
सरामंलक्ष्मणंचैवघोरैर्नागमयैश्शरैः ।बिभेदसमरेक्रुद्धःसर्वगात्रेषुराक्षसः ।।।।
sa rāmaṃ lakṣmaṇaṃ caiva ghorair nāgamayaiḥ śaraiḥ |
bibheda samare kruddhaḥ sarvagātreṣu rākṣasaḥ ||
സമരത്തിൽ ക്രോധിച്ച ആ രാക്ഷസൻ ഭയങ്കരമായ നാഗമയ അമ്പുകളാൽ രാമനെയും ലക്ഷ്മണനെയും ശരീരമൊട്ടാകെ കുത്തിപ്പിളർത്തി.
"Strike", "Tear", "Why are you running away?" were the kind of tumultuous echo heard in the darkness of the night. In that darkness the dark complexioned Vanaras and Rakshasas covered with golden armour in the night seemed like shining herbs of the forest in the mountain.
Dharma is tested when the righteous suffer unjust harm; the episode underscores endurance and steadfastness when adharma uses terror and trickery.
Indrajit, in anger, uses nāga-empowered arrows to wound Rāma and Lakṣmaṇa across their bodies.
Rāma and Lakṣmaṇa’s resilience is implied—the capacity to bear adversity without abandoning righteous purpose.
