उत्तरंद्वारमासाद्यरामःसौमित्रिणासह ।आवृत्यबलवांस्तस्थौसुग्रीवश्चहरीश्वरः ।।।।

Transliteration

uttaraṃ dvāram āsādya rāmaḥ saumitriṇā saha |

āvṛtya balavāṃs tasthau sugrīvaś ca harīśvaraḥ ||

Translation

വടക്കൻ കവാടത്തെത്തിയ രാമൻ സൗമിത്രിയോടു (ലക്ഷ്മണനോടു) കൂടെ മഹാബലവാനായി അതിനെ ഉപരോധിച്ച് ദൃഢമായി നിലകൊണ്ടു; വാനരേശ്വരനായ സുഗ്രീവനും അവിടെ തന്നെ സ്ഥാനമുറപ്പിച്ചു.
