Sītā’s Lament over the Illusory Head and Bow
ततस्तथेतिप्रतिगृह्यतद्वचोबलाधिपास्तेमहदात्मनोबलम् ।समानयंश्चैवसमागमंचतेन्यवेदयन्भर्तरियुद्धकाङ्क्षिणि ।।6.32.44।।
tatas tatheti pratigṛhya tad-vaco balādhipās te mahad-ātmano balam | samānayaṃś caiva samāgamaṃ ca te nyavedayan bhartari yuddha-kāṅkṣiṇi ||6.32.44||
അപ്പോൾ “തഥാസ്തു” എന്നു സമ്മതിച്ച് ആ സേനാധിപന്മാർ മഹാത്മാവിന്റെ മഹാസൈന്യത്തെ കൂട്ടിച്ചേർത്തു; യുദ്ധം ആഗ്രഹിച്ചിരുന്ന ഭർത്താവായ പ്രഭുവിന് സൈന്യസമാഗമം അറിയിച്ചു.
"Break forth by beating the drums with powerful drumsticks calling the army to assemble without telling the reason."
The verse illustrates duty within ranks: subordinates execute lawful orders promptly and report completion. Dharma in organized society includes faithful discharge of one’s assigned role—though the larger moral evaluation depends on the justice of the war itself.
Rāvaṇa’s commanders acknowledge his command, gather the forces, and notify him that the army has assembled for battle.
Discipline and responsiveness—coordinated action and clear reporting in a chain of command.
