tataḥ paramadurdharṣo rāvaṇo rākṣaseśvaraḥ |

sītāyām upaśantyāṃ rākṣasīm idam abravīt ||

Translation

അനന്തരം അത്യന്തം ദുർധർഷനായ രാക്ഷസേശ്വരൻ രാവണൻ, സീത ശാന്തമായി കേൾക്കുമ്പോൾ, ഒരു രാക്ഷസിയോടു ഈ വാക്കുകൾ പറഞ്ഞു.
