बाहूप्रगृह्ययःपद् भ्यांमहींगच्छतिवीर्यवान् ।लङ्कामभिमुखःक्रोधादभीक्ष्णंचविजृम्भते ।।।।गिरिशृङ्गप्रतीकाशःपद्मकिञ्जल्कसन्निभः ।स्पोटयत्यभिसंरब्धोलाङ्गूलंचपुनःपुनः ।।।।यस्यलाङ्गूलशब्देनस्वनन्तिप्रदिशोदश ।एषवानरराजेनसुग्रीवेणाभिषेचितः ।।।।यौवराज्येऽङ्गदोनामत्वामाह्वयतिसंयुगे ।।।।

Transliteration

bāhū pragṛhya yaḥ pādbhyāṃ mahīm gacchati vīryavān |

laṅkām abhimukhaḥ krodhād abhīkṣṇaṃ ca vijṛmbhate ||

giriśṛṅgapratīkāśaḥ padmakiñjalkasannibhaḥ |

spoṭayaty abhisaṃrabdho lāṅgūlaṃ ca punaḥ punaḥ ||

yasya lāṅgūlaśabdena svananti pradiśo daśa |

eṣa vānararājena sugrīveṇābhiṣecitaḥ ||

yauvarājye 'ṅgado nāma tvām āhvayati saṃyuge ||6.26.14||

Translation

ബാഹുക്കൾ ഉയർത്തി പാദങ്ങളാൽ ഭൂമിയെ ഇടിച്ചുലയ്ക്കുന്ന ആ പരാക്രമശാലി, ക്രോധത്തോടെ ലങ്കയിലേക്കു മുഖം തിരിച്ച് വീണ്ടും വീണ്ടും ഉഗ്രതേജസ്സോടെ വീർപ്പുമുട്ടുന്നു. ശരീരത്തിൽ ഗിരിശിഖരസദൃശൻ, വർണ്ണത്തിൽ പദ്മകേശരസമാനൻ; അത്യന്തം സംരബ്ധനായി അവൻ വീണ്ടും വീണ്ടും തന്റെ വാൽ അടിച്ചുലയ്ക്കുന്നു. അവന്റെ വാലിന്റെ നാദംകൊണ്ട് പത്തു ദിക്കുകളും മുഴങ്ങുന്നു. വാനരരാജനായ സുഗ്രീവൻ യൗവരാജ്യത്തിൽ അഭിഷേകം ചെയ്ത അങ്ങദനാണ് അവൻ; ഇപ്പോൾ സമരത്തിൽ നിന്നെ വെല്ലുവിളിക്കുന്നു.
