एषरावणवीर्येणलक्ष्मणःपतितोभुविः ।सर्पवच्चेष्टतेवीरोभूमौशोकमुदिरीयन् ।।।।
eṣa rāvaṇa-vīryeṇa lakṣmaṇaḥ patito bhuvi |
sarpavac ceṣṭate vīro bhūmau śokam udīrayan ||
രാവണന്റെ ശക്തിയാൽ പ്രഹരിക്കപ്പെട്ട ലക്ഷ്മണൻ ഭൂമിയിൽ വീണുകിടക്കുന്നു; ആ വീരൻ നിലത്ത് സർപ്പത്തെപ്പോലെ പുളഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ട് ദുഃഖം ഉണർത്തുന്നു.
