The Intensification of the Rama–Ravana Duel

ततोराक्षसशार्दूलोविद्राव्यहरिवाहिनीम् ।स ददर्शततोरामंतिष्ठन्तमपराजितम् ।।6.100.11।।लक्ष्मणेनसहभ्रात्राविष्णुनावासवंयथा ।अलिखन्तमिवाकाशमवष्टभ्यमहद्धनुः ।।6.100.12।।पद्मपत्रविशालाक्षंदीर्घबाहुमरिन्दमम् ।

tato rākṣasaśārdūlo vidrāvya harivāhinīm | sa dadarśa tato rāmaṃ tiṣṭhantam aparājitam ||

lakṣmaṇena saha bhrātrā viṣṇunā vāsavaṃ yathā | alikhantam ivākāśam avaṣṭabhya mahaddhanuḥ ||

padmapatraviśālākṣaṃ dīrghabāhum arindamam |

അപ്പോൾ രാക്ഷസശാർദൂലൻ വാനരസൈന്യത്തെ പിന്മാറ്റി, അവിടെ അപരാജിതനായി നില്ക്കുന്ന ശ്രീരാമനെ കണ്ടു—ഭ്രാതാവായ ലക്ഷ്മണനോടുകൂടെ, വിഷ്ണു വാസവനോടു (ഇന്ദ്രനോടു) കൂടെ നില്ക്കുന്നതുപോലെ. മഹാധനുസ്സിനെ ഉറപ്പിച്ച് ആകാശം തന്നെ ചുരണ്ടുന്നതുപോലെ തോന്നുന്നവൻ; പദ്മപത്രസമാന വിശാലനേത്രൻ, ദീർഘബാഹു, ശത്രുദമകൻ.

Thereafter, the tiger among Rakshasas having routed the Vanaras from there, saw the lotus petal-eyed Rama, endowed with long arms, an unconquered one, the tamer of enemies, standing with his brother Lakshmana like Lord Vishnu with Indra, holding a huge bow that was scraping the sky.
