The Burning Tail and the Parade through Laṅkā
यदि किञ्चिदनुक्रोशस्तस्य मय्यस्ति धीमतः।।5.53.29।।यदि वा भाग्यशेषो मे शीतो भव हनूमतः।
yadi kiñcid anukrośas tasya mayy asti dhīmataḥ ||5.53.29|| yadi vā bhāgyaśeṣo me śīto bhava hanūmataḥ |
“ബുദ്ധിമാനായ ശ്രീരാമന് എനിക്കു നേരെ അല്പമെങ്കിലും കരുണയുണ്ടെങ്കിൽ—അല്ലെങ്കിൽ എന്റെ ഭാഗ്യത്തിന്റെ ഏതെങ്കിലും ശേഷിപ്പുണ്ടെങ്കിൽ—ഹേ അഗ്നിദേവാ, ഹനുമാനോടു ശീതളനായിരിക്കണമേ.”
"The tail is dear to the monkeys and it is an ornament for them. Set fire to it at once and let him go with his burning tail.
