सहोदरस्ते दयितः कुमारोऽक्षश्च सूदितः।।।।न हि तेष्वेव मे सारो यस्त्वय्यरिनिषूदन।
sahodaras te dayitaḥ kumāro 'kṣaś ca sūditaḥ | na hi teṣv eva me sāro yas tvayy ari-niṣūdana ||
നിന്റെ സഹോദരനായ പ്രിയ കുമാരൻ അക്ഷനും വധിക്കപ്പെട്ടു. ഹേ അരിനിഷൂദന, എന്റെ ആശ്രയം അവരിലല്ല—എന്റെ വിശ്വാസം നിനക്കിലാണ് ഉറച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത്.
"Your dear young brother Aksha is killed. O scourage of enemies! I do not have the faith in them as I have in you.
The verse shows how grief can be redirected into reliance on force; dharma would require that sorrow be guided by right counsel and justice, not merely vengeance.
After Akṣa’s death, a senior figure urges a stronger warrior to act, expressing reliance on him over others.
