वीक्षमाणस्ततस्तं वै वायसं समुदैक्षत।।5.38.27।।नखैस्सरुधिरैस्तीक्ष्णैर्मामेवाभिमुखं स्थितम्।
vīkṣamāṇas tatas taṃ vai vāyasaṃ samudaikṣata || 5.38.27 ||
nakhaiḥ sarudhirais tīkṣṇair mām evābhimukhaṃ sthitam |
പിന്നീട് ചുറ്റും നോക്കി അദ്ദേഹം ആ കാക്കയെ കണ്ടു—എന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ, എന്നോടു മുഖം തിരിച്ച് നിൽക്കുന്നതായി; അതിന്റെ മൂർച്ചയുള്ള നഖങ്ങൾ രക്തത്തിൽ മങ്ങിയിരുന്നു.
'This crow was the best of birds. He was surely Indra's son who had covered a long distance with great speed and his speed was like the Wind-god's.
