jānantī bata diṣṭyā māṃ vaidehi paripṛcchasi | bhartuḥ kamalapattrākṣi saṃsthānaṃ lakṣmaṇasya ca ||

Translation

ഹേ വൈദേഹി, കമലദളനേത്രിയേ! ഭർത്താവിന്റെയും ലക്ഷ്മണന്റെയും രൂപലക്ഷണങ്ങൾ നീ അറിയുന്നുവെങ്കിലും, ദൈവാനുഗ്രഹത്താൽ നീ എന്നോടു അവയെ വിവരിക്കുവാൻ ചോദിക്കുന്നു.
